aboutMary Kaiser began creating her line of home accessories and furnishings in 1991 in Port Townsend, Washington. This was shortly after closing MARY KAISER DESIGN CO.LTD. a charming accessories & gift shoppe that had become a Puget Sound destination. Mary's family home was featured in an article titled " MARY KAISER'S PILLOW FEAST" in Victoria Magazine along with her Signature Button Cushion Ottoman and Pillows; soon after Romantic Homes Magazine followed with
an extensive article. Her love of textiles and keen color sense, along with a whimsical imagination were her trademark . Soon her
product line expanded to include lamps,
lampshades, coverlets, sewing boxes, Bella tote bags. a signature linen jumper & T, chintz robes, matelasse jackets, embellished bamboo chairs, dressing screens and wall baskets and more......
The company grew and opened the MARY KAISER LTD. showroom in the Atlanta Americasmart and a showroom in New York as well. Her collections were available at Lord & Taylor, Nordstrom , Neiman Marcus, Horchow, Tracy Porter's Shop in Wisconsin, Domain New York, Urban Country, Amen Wardy, Maison Luxe, Gorsutch, Fortunoff, William-Wayne and others. Within a few years, she was encouraged to expand into furniture design. After a move to North Carolina and near High Point, the furniture line of MARY KAISER MAISON was born. Mary designed upholstered furniture and was the creator of the COLLAGE STYLE of upholstered furniture... a blend of many fabrics and trimmings and an abundance of assorted pillows on each piece. She designed many collections each consisting of a sofa, loveseat, daybed, English chair, large round ottoman, straight chair, master chair, corner chair and petite chaise. Some of the most popular collections were Winnie, Geranium and Eloise. As her furniture line grew, she added the Tuscany Collection of tables , small chests and closet cabinets. In addition to Atlanta and New York, a MARY KAISER LTD. showroom was opened in High Point, North Carolina. In 2004, Mary left furniture behind to focus on a smaller product line and began designing handbags and other fashion and home accessories. Her designs continued to be sold to the trade only and available in specialty stores throughout America, Canada & Tokyo. Gradually, Mary started working on One-of-a-Kind and Limited Edition accessories and decided to make her things available only in her online boutique,www. MARYKAISERLTD.COM. Her love of textiles and keen color sense, along with a whimsical imagination and her passion continue to dominate her work. |
